Malaysia has welcomed the ceasefire agreement reached between the United States and Iran, describing it as an important step toward restoring peace and stability in West Asia.
In an official statement, Malaysia’s Foreign Affairs Ministry said the agreement offers renewed hope for reducing tensions in a region that has long faced uncertainty and conflict.
The ministry urged all parties involved to fully honour the terms of the ceasefire in good faith, stressing that continued commitment is essential to prevent any return to violence.
Malaysia also called on all sides to avoid provocative actions or unilateral decisions that could threaten the fragile calm or disrupt global economic and energy security.
The government acknowledged and appreciated the diplomatic efforts and mediation that helped make the agreement possible. It said the breakthrough proves that dialogue and diplomacy remain the strongest tools for resolving long-standing disputes and building lasting regional security.
Malaysia further encouraged all parties to use this moment as an opportunity to continue meaningful discussions toward a peaceful, comprehensive, and long-term resolution.
The statement added that the international community should stand behind these peace efforts and work together to ensure safety, justice, and prosperity for all people across the region.
