Why One Educator Is Challenging Everything We Thought We Knew About Learning in Malaysia

What if the future of education isn’t inside a classroom at all?

For decades, schools have followed the same formula. Same timetable. Same curriculum. Same exams. Same finish line.

But one educator believes that model is no longer enough.

And after nearly 30 years in Malaysia’s education landscape, he’s built a fast growing business proving there might be a better way.

Meet the founder of Intuition Education Centre  a veteran educator, entrepreneur, and education disruptor who has spent three decades watching students thrive, struggle, and sometimes get lost inside a system designed for the masses.

Today, his mission is simple:

Make learning personal again.

From International School Leader to Education Entrepreneur

His journey began in Malaysia in 1996.

Back then, Mont Kiara looked nothing like it does today. The skyline was quieter. The international education scene was still evolving.

He started his career at Garden International School before moving to one of Asia’s most prestigious institutions, the British School Manila.

Eventually, life brought him back to Malaysia.

He went on to spend 15 years at Alice Smith School, serving as Head of Year 11 and helping hundreds of students navigate some of the most important academic years of their lives.

Then came a bold decision.

In 2019, he stepped away from the traditional education system and launched Intuition Education Centre.

The timing couldn’t have been worse.

Within a year, the world shut down.

COVID-19 arrived.

For many businesses, it was a nightmare.

For a new education company, it was survival mode.

And just when things began recovering, another challenge hit.

A nearby construction project triggered a sinkhole that forced the centre to relocate during one of the highest-demand periods for face-to-face learning.

Most businesses would have struggled to recover.

Intuition did more than survive.

It grew.

Fast.

The company has recorded approximately 40% growth year after year for four consecutive years.

In the education industry, that’s exceptional.

The Problem Nobody Wants To Talk About

Ask most parents what they want for their children and the answer is usually the same:

Confidence.

Understanding.

Results.

Yet many students sit in classrooms every day without fully understanding what’s being taught.

Not because they aren’t capable.

Because they’re afraid.

Afraid to raise their hand.

Afraid to ask questions.

Afraid of looking like the only person in the room who doesn’t understand.

And in a classroom of 20 to 30 students, it’s easy to disappear.

Some students fall behind.

Others get held back.

Everyone moves at roughly the same pace.

The founder believes that’s one of the biggest flaws in modern education.

A system designed for efficiency often struggles to accommodate individuality.

And that’s where one-to-one learning changes everything.

Why Personalised Learning Is Winning

At Intuition Education Centre, every lesson revolves around a single student.

No crowded classrooms.

No competing attention.

No fear of being judged.

Just focused learning tailored to how each student thinks, learns, and grows.

If a student struggles with mathematics, they can spend more time on mathematics.

If they excel in science, they can accelerate faster.

If they miss lessons because of travel, illness, or family commitments, they simply continue where they left off.

Nothing gets lost.

Nothing gets skipped.

Everything moves at the student’s pace.

It’s a model that mirrors how successful athletes, musicians, and high performers train.

Personal coaching.

Personal feedback.

Personal growth.

Building An Education Experience Students Actually Enjoy

One of Intuition’s most unique ideas is giving students something schools rarely can.

Choice.

Students can change teachers.

If a learning style doesn’t click, they can find someone who does.

Because great education isn’t only about expertise.

It’s about connection.

The right teacher can unlock confidence.

The wrong teacher can shut it down.

By empowering students to find educators who genuinely inspire them, Intuition creates stronger engagement, better relationships, and ultimately better outcomes.

Helping Extraordinary Students Break The Rules

The centre has also worked with some of Malaysia’s most academically gifted young minds.

Students who advanced years ahead of traditional expectations.

Young learners who completed examinations long before their peers.

Exceptional talents who needed flexibility that conventional systems simply couldn’t provide.

Rather than forcing every student onto the same path, Intuition focuses on helping individuals progress when they’re ready.

Not when a timetable says they should.

The Bigger Vision

This isn’t about replacing schools.

It’s about rethinking what learning can become.

The founder still believes schools play an important role in education, social development, and community building.

But he also believes the future belongs to flexibility.

To personalisation.

To learning experiences built around students instead of systems.

And judging by the centre’s rapid growth, more Malaysian families are starting to agree.

Changing Education, One Student At A Time

Nearly three decades after arriving in Malaysia, this educator is still doing what he loves most.

Helping students unlock their potential.

The difference now?

He’s doing it on his own terms.

And in a world where education is evolving faster than ever, the Intuition Education Centre is proving that sometimes the most powerful innovation isn’t new technology.

It’s simply giving every student the attention they deserve.

Because when learning becomes personal, possibilities become limitless.
