Malaysia Airlines Introduces Subsidised Festive Fares and Extra Flights for End of May Celebrations

In conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya Aidiladha, Kaamatan, and Gawai celebrations, Malaysia Aviation Group has announced additional flight services and special subsidised airfares to help Malaysians travel home more affordably.

As part of the festive travel initiative, Malaysia Airlines will operate 62 extra flights on several high demand domestic routes, including Kota Bharu, Labuan, Tawau, Sandakan, Kuching, Sibu, and Miri. The move is aimed at easing travel demand and reconnecting families during the festive season.

The airline group stated that the subsidised fares are available for booking from now until 31 May 2026.

Travellers flying to Sabah can enjoy special promotional fares for travel between 26 and 29 May 2026 on Malaysia Airlines routes to Kota Kinabalu, Labuan, Sandakan, and Tawau, along with selected Firefly services to Kota Kinabalu and Tawau.

For those travelling to Sarawak, the discounted fares apply between 28 and 31 May 2026 for flights to Kuching, Miri, and Sibu via Malaysia Airlines, as well as selected Firefly routes to Kuching.

The initiative is expected to provide more affordable and convenient travel options for Malaysians returning home to celebrate with family and loved ones.
