Inside Beca Tea’s Revamped KL Flagship

Designed by the creatives at Wünderwall Design, Beca Tea’s new space in Damansara Uptown is a vibe. Picture this: bold red walls, a zen water feature, a long communal table for tea sessions, and generative art projections that evolve throughout the day. It’s not your grandma’s tea salon—it’s more like a minimalist art gallery that serves wild infusions.

“We wanted to build a space that invites curiosity, experimentation, and connection through tea,” says PC Koh, founder of Beca Tea. “It’s about reimagining what a modern tea house could be.”

1. DIY Tea Mixology: Become Your Own Tea Bartender

Tea meets cocktail culture in this first-of-its-kind DIY Tea Mixology experience, co-created with local mixologist Tracia Chan. You’ll be given all the tools: shaker, infuser, fresh garnishes, and a curated menu of tea bases and botanical infusions.

How It Works:

  • Choose from base teas like oolong, pu’er, or green tea.
  • Add layers with fruits, herbs, or florals.
  • Shake, stir, and sip—your way.

You’ll also get prompts for flavour pairings, but feel free to freestyle it. Baristas are there if you need help, or go solo and craft your signature blend.

2. Tea & Tisane Pairings: Not Your Average Tea & Biskut

Next up on the experience menu: thoughtful tea and tisane pairings that go way beyond cucumber sandwiches. Choose between single-origin teas or caffeine-free herbal tisanes made with functional superfoods like Ashwagandha, Tiger’s Milk Mushroom, and more.

Pair it with handcrafted bites like:

  • Poached Pear Dadar – a twist on kuih ketayap, filled with sweet custard and pear.
  • Vegan QEII Chocolate Crumble – rich, fudgy, and dairy-free.
  • Truffle Mushroom Grove Pielette – earthy, savoury, and umami-packed.

Each pairing comes with a brewing guide and tasting card so you can sip mindfully and learn something new.

3. Tea Omakase With Beca’s Founder, PC Koh

Think of this as the tea version of an exclusive chef’s table.

Sit down with PC Koh, Beca Tea’s founder and resident tea master, for a personalized tea journey. The Tea Omakase is by reservation only and comes in three tiers: beginner, intermediate, and advanced.

What You’ll Experience:

  1. Guided tastings of rare and premium teas
  2. Stories behind each cultivar, including ancient traditions
  3. Curated food pairings made for each steep
  4. Cold brews and experimental infusions you won’t find anywhere else

“Each cup has a story—whether it’s a single-origin Taiwanese oolong or a barrel-aged pu’er. The omakase is about connecting you to the culture behind the leaf,” shares Koh.
