Malaysians Urged to Safeguard Unity as Global Tensions Rise
As geopolitical uncertainties and global tensions continue to intensify, Malaysians are being reminded of the importance of preserving national harmony and unity.
National Unity Minister Aaron Ago Dagang emphasised that social cohesion must remain a priority, especially in times when external pressures could easily trigger internal divisions.
He cautioned against allowing sensitive issues involving religion, race, and the monarchy to undermine Malaysia’s long-standing harmony. In particular, he warned that the rise of divisive narratives and racial sentiments could weaken the social fabric if left unchecked.
While acknowledging that differences in opinion are natural in a diverse society, Aaron stressed that discussions must be handled with wisdom, respect, and maturity not driven by эмоtion or provocation.
“Malaysia’s strength lies in its diversity. We become stronger when we choose to understand, respect, accept, and celebrate our differences,” he shared in a recent Facebook post.
He further called on Malaysians to actively nurture a spirit of togetherness, ensuring that unity remains a defining pillar of the nation. According to him, safeguarding harmony today is essential to building a stable and inclusive future for the next generation.
