What would you do if life gave you RM5 a day and a dream too big to quit?
Meet Dato Seri Steven Mok, the man who turned hardship into horsepower from a small kampong in Klang to helming Great Metal Sdn Bhd and Great Delicious Restaurant. His story isn’t just success, it’s Malaysia’s heartbeat in motion.

🚀 From Ketchup Meals to Million-Ringgit Dreams

Born in Kampong Jawa, life hit Steven hard. His dad passed when he was just seven, leaving his mum sewing clothes to feed five kids  sometimes with nothing but ketchup for dinner. School ended at Form 2 because RM65 was too much.

But he didn’t sit still. At 14, Steven hustled  factory jobs, wiring work, even RM5-a-day shifts. Every ringgit built his grit. By 29, with a lorry and RM40,000 loan from mentor Dato Seri Arumugam, he launched Great Metal Sdn Bhd, a company that today stands as a symbol of pure Malaysian determination.

🍛 Turning Metal into Meals The Great Delicious Way

Most people stop after one win. Steven didn’t. He saw potential where others saw risk.
That’s how Great Delicious Restaurant was born  a spot serving over 60 local Indian-Malaysian dishes daily, from fiery curry to nostalgic nasi lemak.

When he bought it, business was crawling at 40%. Now? It’s nearly full every day  thanks to Steven’s golden rule:

“Learn every part of your business  then make it run without you.”

That’s real boss energy. 💪

🏍 Riding Beyond Limits  The Harley King of Klang

From kampong lanes to the cold roads of Leh Ladakh, Tibet, and Europe, Steven has ridden his Harley Davidson through every kind of storm  literally.
“Money fades, but memories on two wheels stay forever,” he says.

He’s the kind of man who builds empires by day and chases freedom across continents by night.

❤️ Giving Back to the Country That Raised Him

As president of Jivathma Motor Club, Steven uses his success for service  delivering flood relief, sponsoring Tamil schools, and giving groceries to struggling families.
His motto? “Do good, and good will chase you.”

That’s not just talk. It’s the way he lives

💡 His Message to Every Young Malaysian

“Try everything. Don’t stop. Build your business so it runs itself  and go live your life.”
Simple words. Powerful truth.

From ketchup dinners to corporate boardrooms, Dato Seri Steven Mok is proof that no background is too humble, no dream too big.

🪔 Deepavali Wishes from Dato Seri Steven Mok

“As Deepavali lights up homes, may it also light up your dreams. Keep hustling, stay humble, and let your success shine like a diya.”

Happy Deepavali from Dato Seri Steven Mok, Datin Seri Asha, and the MalayznBeat family!💜
