Immerse Yourself in the World of Chanel Métiers d’art 2026
In December 2025, Chanel unveiled a new chapter in its legacy as creative director Matthieu Blazy presented his debut Métiers d’art collection and he chose an unexpected stage. Deep beneath New York City, inside a long-disused subway platform, fashion came alive in a way only Chanel could imagine.
Raw, energetic, and unapologetically real, the show transformed an everyday urban space into a cinematic universe. Models moved through subway carriages and platforms, wearing creations that reflected movement, personality, and modern life. For Blazy, the choice of venue was deeply symbolic.
“The New York subway belongs to everyone,” he explained a powerful reminder that fashion, like the city itself, is for all.
Fashion Inspired by Real Lives
The Métiers d’art 2026 collection draws inspiration from the subcultures that quietly coexist in the underground. From corporate commuters to creative dreamers, Chanel’s vision celebrates individuality without hierarchy.
Blazy’s designs reflect the diversity of people who share the same space every day students, leaders, artists, and teenagers each on their own journey, each dressed in a way that tells a personal story. Like a scene from a film, the runway became a collection of modern heroes moving through their own narratives.
A Star Born from the Subway

One of the most moving moments of the show came with its opening walk. Bhavitha Mandava, a 25-year-old model, stepped onto the runway carrying a story as powerful as the setting itself.
Discovered at Atlantic Avenue subway station in 2024, Bhavitha was a master’s student at New York University, balancing work, studies, and weekend flights to Europe to support herself through modelling. Handpicked by Matthieu Blazy, she opened both Chanel’s Spring/Summer 2026 and Métiers d’art shows making history as the first Indian model to open a Chanel runway.
A video of her parents watching the show from Hyderabad later touched millions online. Bhavitha described the experience as surreal a reminder that dreams often begin in the most ordinary places.
The Soundtrack of a City
Music played a crucial role in shaping the atmosphere of the show. Blazy’s soundtrack blended classical compositions with contemporary beats, mirroring the rhythm of the subway and the pulse of New York.
Just like putting on headphones to escape the noise of a crowded train, the soundtrack invited the audience to step into Chanel’s carefully crafted universe one where chaos turns into beauty and movement becomes art.
Craftsmanship at the Core
At the heart of Métiers d’art is Chanel’s unmatched savoir-faire. Beyond the runway, the house released a series of behind-the-scenes films highlighting the work of its master artisans embroiderers, milliners, goldsmiths, and textile experts.
Each piece in the collection is a testament to patience, precision, and passion. While the setting was urban and contemporary, the craftsmanship remained timeless reinforcing Chanel’s belief that true luxury lies in detail and dedication.
A Show That Redefined the Runway
Chanel’s Métiers d’art 2026 show wasn’t just about fashion it was about possibility. By bringing haute craftsmanship into the heart of the city, Matthieu Blazy reminded the world that style belongs everywhere, and dreams can begin anywhere even on a subway platform.
